Honesty: Part of the 753 Code

Honesty is a tricky thing..  If you ask people “Are you honest?” I think most people would say “yes” but how do you know that they are telling the truth?  Simple answer is that you don’t, not with 100% certainty.

Something that I have found as I have gone through life is that being honest is easier in the long run.  It is not necessarily the easiest path straight away, think we have all been asked by our friends or family members for our honest opinion.  How many times have we actually given it or have we just said what they wanted to hear.

Honesty starts with yourself, to ask yourself a question and give an honest answer is a skill that needs constant work.  “I’m to tired to cook, lets order a takeaway”

We have all done it but honestly is that the right decision for long term gain?  Of course it isn’t, but we do it every day.  The small lies that we tell ourselves everyday prevent us improving and always stand in the way of what we want to achieve.

The biggest lie I tell myself is that “I’ll start tomorrow”  I literally have to shout at myself to start right now, commit, make the decision to act.  I have to be honest it doesn’t always work but knowing the issue enables me to take steps to fix it.

If someone were to ask me if I’m honest, I think would look inward and say “not all the time, but I’m working on it.”
